LPG Equipment Research Centre (LERC), Bangalore is a joint venture undertaking of the three Indian national Oil majors, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. This institution was set up in 1990 with a purpose to develop quality Equipments for usage with LPG and suitable quality control measures so as to ensure safety of the customers. We undertake testing and certification activities in the energy field with specific emphasis on LPG related research.
This centre has been recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India (DSIR). The testing labs at LERC are recognized by National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (NABL) and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). LERC aims to be a globally admired institution continually developing the most advanced, safe, energy efficient and environment friendly equipment and systems for the LPG industry through research, innovation and technology alliance.
LERC is always interested in collaborating with Academic Institutions, Industry Leaders, Laboratories and independent Innovators in advancing research in the field of energy. We are always looking forward to mutually beneficial partnerships with manufacturers in developing new and innovative products which can serve the Energy Industry and through them the public at large.
While we undertake testing and certification activities for the Oil Marketing companies and other domestic energy companies, we are also always in the forefront of increasing the reach of “brand India” all over the world. Small or big manufacturers looking to export their products to different parts of the globe including Africa, Middle East South Asia can get their products certified at LERC under various standards which may be global or local in scope.
